CJI DY Chandrachud, Justice PS Narasimha and Justice JB Pardiwala's bench heard on this matter. Jagadguru Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati Maharaj of Jyotishpeeth has filed a petition in the Supreme Court in this matter. The court said that the High Court is hearing the matter. In such a situation, in the first principle, the High Court should be allowed to conduct the hearing.

The CJI told the petitioner that when the High Court is hearing, why don't you go there and keep your point. Whatever the petitioners are demanding, the High Court is hearing, so there is no need for overlap of action. The petitioner can place the demand for rehabilitation and compensation in the High Court. We allow him to file an application in the ongoing case in the High Court.

In the petition, along with the rehabilitation of the affected people, the court has also been urged to order them to provide financial help.
